The Nonprofit Perspective is a special project of the Berry-Brewer Freelance Agency. This outlet allows us to combine our love for writing with our passion for social justice. We are striving to create an open, informative space that can act as a starting point for nonprofit professionals who want to grow themselves and their organizations. It helps if you like to laugh, too, as we try not to take ourselves too seriously around here.

Tamara has experience in a variety of different nonprofit organizations, most often working in the capacity of a writer and editor. Her background also includes a healthy dose of fundraising, content development, and project management.
Tamara has had the opportunity to write and edit for numerous different projects and is well-versed in everything from newsletter and catalog creation to article writing. She has edited full-length books and conducted interviews with nonprofit leaders across the United States. Whether she is crafting press releases or developing curricula, Tamara enjoys being the go-to gal for both nationally-based and local nonprofits of all sizes. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English with a Technical Writing concentration from Eastern Washington University.

Lorna has worked with and consulted for a number of nonprofit organizations in areas such as the arts, social justice, women’s rights, and cultural understanding, among others. Whether writing grants for an area food bank or working on marketing materials for a professional ensemble theatre, she is inspired by the work of the nonprofit world. Her interests include volunteer management and organizatinal development.
As a writer, Lorna has also supported several great organizations through newsletter writing and design, web content creation, educational material composition, and blog development. A graduate of Gonzaga University, Lorna has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Nonprofit Organizations.
